What is the idea behind this page?
The Misssion
Welcome to Pit Garage! If you’re here, you probably love motorsports as much as I do and are always on the lookout for new ideas to build the ultimate track car. So often, we see stories of completed builds and hear about all kinds of mods, but it’s tough to find detailed insights and guides that really walk you through the process. That’s exactly what I want to change here!
Pit Garage is all about giving you a step-by-step look behind the scenes: from disassembly to part selection to custom adjustments—I’ll document every step as I transform my cars piece by piece into dedicated track tools. You’ll find tools, tricks, and techniques that make these builds both efficient and effective.
Alongside the builds, I’ll also share reviews on brakes, tires, and more—because high performance doesn’t always mean the most expensive parts. I’ll even take you along to different tracks and track days, where you can see how these setups actually perform under real conditions.
About Me
Hi, I’m Nick, born in 1995, and I call Hamburg, Germany, home. Since I can remember, cars have been my obsession. From playing with Hot Wheels as a kid, racing remote-controlled cars, or pretending to drive while sitting on my dad’s lap, my love for all things automotive was always a part of me. Games like Need for Speed and Gran Turismo fueled the passion, and I spent countless weekends at racetracks and rally stages, soaking in the sights and sounds of motorsport.
From Aircraft to Automobiles
I trained as an Aircraft Mechanic and am still working in the aviation industry today. This experience has taught me everything about working with metal and composite materials. Precision has become second nature to me—for example, making sure that every bolt is tightened to its exact specified torque.
Even during my training, I was drawn to the world of cars. I worked part-time at a workshop while still in school and even joined a racing team as part of their crew. I helped with teardown and took part in pit stops—an experience that made me truly appreciate the dedication and attention to detail behind motorsport.
What Cars Mean to Me
I’m fascinated by both the beauty and the engineering of cars. My heart beats for BMW and Porsche, but it’s not just about the badges—it’s the stories, the legacy, and the craftsmanship behind these machines. When I’m not driving, I’m tinkering: solving problems, finding new solutions, and making things work better.
On the track, I love chasing faster lap times and learning the limits of my cars. For me, driving isn’t just about speed; it’s about control, precision, and pushing boundaries.
Dreams and Goals
I currently own my dream car, the E46 M3, but I’m always looking to the future. One day, I’d love to restore or build a Porsche Carrera 3.2 G-model, combining classic aesthetics with modern performance. My long-term goal is to drive on as many racetracks around the world as possible, using my cars as they were meant to be driven.
And maybe, just maybe, one day I’ll find myself rallying down a dirt stage—a bucket list goal that’s always on my mind.
Why Pit-Garage Exists
My idea behind Pit Garage is to share detailed, honest insights into car builds and modifications. Everyone loves to talk about what they’ve done to their cars, but rarely do you see the full process—the challenges, the solutions, and the nitty-gritty details. That’s what I want to offer here: an open and interactive space for car enthusiasts to learn, share, and connect.
